The best time of year to hire a golf photographer varies according to the individual course and the location. There can be several beautiful seasons to photograph a golf course. The most important factor for golf photography is that the greens and fairways look healthy. But that doesn’t necessarily mean verdant green. Links courses in Scotland can look brown when they’re in their prime (although not everyone is a fan of the brown look). The second most important factor is the flora of the course. Obviously, Augusta looks best when the azaleas are in bloom, while heathland courses in the British Isles are at their most beautiful in the autumn when the heather is purple. Springtime on a course with yellow gorse can be amazing. Ask yourself what is the most important aspect of the aesthetics of the golf course you’re photographing.
